Anti Odour Treatment
The Anti Odour Treatment is new for this year at The North Face. A lot of the performance garments are treated with Sanitized Silver to help with odour control.
The silver salt treatment is a very durable antimicrobial. This Sanitized Silver only defends against the bacteria on the garment and leaves the skins natural bacteria alone.
Windproof Front & Breathable Back
The Windproof Front and Breathable Back system is found amongst the Flight Series shells to regulate body temperature. This really helps when doing aerobic activity and the weather conditions are variable.
The North Face have applied windproof fabric to the front of the jacket and breathable fabrics on the back to achieve thermal regulation. When going forwards, for example when running, you lose a lot of heat through your chest and stomach where wind, and weather hit direct and the windproof fabric minimise the heat lost in these areas.
Where endurance athletes tent to perspire on their back where there is no direct contact with the wind, the breathable mesh panels draw excess heat and moisture away from your body, keeping you from overheating.
Minerale
Natural Technology is used in The North Face Minerale fabric . This Natural Technology comes from crushed volcanic minerals that are then embedded into the fibre.
The naturally occurring miners in the yarns of Minerale fabric are commonly used to soften and purify water because they have a great ability to absorb impurities. Minerale fabric wicks and evaporates moisture quickly keeping you cool and it is easily refreshed when it is washed and dried as normal. This fabric traps odour it it's pores which is only released when it is washed, keeping you odour free. It also gives UV protection so you can stay comfortable in any environment.
Minerale will not wear out or wash off, it is always working and permanent.
Insult Hill Seamless Garments
The Womens Insult Hill range of tops are made by a engineering process to minimise stitch lines to give a seamless fabric. This technique means that designers can add panels of fabric with different weights, stretch, texture, breathability, support and colour to garments without using seams to attach the panels.
The end result provides you with a very high technical piece of clothing that provides you with extra breathability and support without using seams that can abrade or chafe skin.
Wind Tunnel
The North Face Womens GDT items use a innovative technology in the fabric that regulates body temperature in a more efficient way.
This special Wind Tunnel knit-in vent construction means that cool air can pass through the lower ribcage area of the products which is naturally a high heat area for women.
Most of the styles in the performance range have reflective logos to make you more visible during early morning or evening exercise when it is dark.
